Houston, TX – Have you ever though outside the web?

Posted in: Industry News

Seems kinda ironic that I am writing this on the web to talk about thinking outside the web.

Well regardless, the radio might be the best place for you to advertise if your target audience is the older generation.

The older generation enjoys the lack of technology. Turning on a radio station is better than using a phone to connect via bluetooth and then listen to my customized Spotify station.

When you think about it, I expect to automate a lot of technology. My phone links to my car automatically, I don’t do anything to make it happen.

The older generation would rather turn on a radio station and listen to it. Ads don’t bother then but its part of life. I don’t mind paying to have ads removed.

Nothing wrong with either option but depending on your target market, you might need to change up the way you do things. I hardly ever listen to the radio but my target market does so I advertise on stations they listen to.

I never really hear my advertisements since I don’t want to listen to that station but calls come in. We push phone calls not website traffic for this market. This of course means we better answer every call that comes in.

If you miss a call you probably missed the whole deal. People rarely leave messages and if you have to call them back then you have to strike when the iron isn’t hot anymore.

Email and text are 100% a different animal but that is for a different post.

When it comes to radio you can also set your ads to only run at certain times of the day. Weekend or no weekends. Just like I can target my ads through PPC, I can target my ads via radio if I learn how to talk to the station about it.

The business is out there, lets just see who will go after it.
