Houston, TX – How the Pros Tackle Troubleshooting Flickering LED Lights

Posted in: Special Offer

LED lights have become a popular lighting choice over the recent years. Their cost efficiency and long-lasting output make them a popular choice in the lighting market, especially for commercial lighting, industrial lighting, and other operations that have a lot of lighting needs. With LED lights becoming ever more popular, it would seem that the days of flickering from fluorescent lights are over. But that’s not always the case. It is true that LED lights flicker significantly less often than other lighting options, but they may still occasionally blink or fail to turn on.

So what can be done if that happens? Consider these troubleshooting options.

LED Setup

The first troubleshooting option for blinking LED lights is to consider the lighting setup.

Check lamps, wires, ballasts, and tombstones for poor connections that could lead to lighting troubles. One of the most common reasons for flickering is a power connection issue such as a loose connection. Tighten any loose wires or lamps that may have become loose over time.

Consider Other Failure Points

If there are no loose connections, the next option is to consider other potential powers of failure. Incompatible switches could be another problem area. Some LED lights are not always compatible with old dimmers or light switches. Other failure points that could result in flickering could be driver components, incorrect surge wattage, or changing voltage levels.

Correct the Malfunction

Once the problem area is found, address the malfunction to correct the flickering lights.

If a lamp is the problem, contact your LED supplier to inquire about new lamp installation and warranties for replacement. If necessary, purchase new LED tubes or fixtures. Once the problem has been addressed, there should be no more cause for concern. LED lights should turn off and on without flickering for optimal usage.
