We’re still very busy with work for Trader Joe’s. Our most recent re-order has SignWorks cranking out a total of 50, 12” x 12” white pointed petal hibiscus decals for the Escondido, CA stores. And, we have several completed orders for the 12” x 5” NOT AN EXIT interior sign that were shipped to the Walnut Creek and Redlands, CA store as well as the Albuquerque, NM and Fort Myers, FL and Indianapolis, IN stores. Thankfully, our plotter is very busy these days and we are grateful for the work.
We have all of the Trader Joe’s art files loaded onto our system for these and other signs, including the pictured cut vinyl decals used at their retail stores. We also have the art files for their banners, parking signs, posts, signicades, delineators, etc. We have just finished adding a new DO NOT BLOCK sign made from PVC and two stores have already placed orders for this 12” X 5” interior sign. We typically process their orders very quickly and ship them in just a matter of days. Like many retailers, Trader Joe’s uses a variety of cut vinyl decals including red address lettering for store windows, as well as for the store name and operating hours. We pre-mask all of their decals to make them easier to install.
The company has created a well-established brand identity that was developed over several years and Trader Joe’s is extremely popular where I live. I love the brand and shop there all the time because their products are well priced and because of their broad selection of fruits, vegetables, breads, cheeses, wines and so much more.
Trader Joe’s was founded in 1958 by Joe Coulombe when he took over a small chain of convenience stores around the LA area and called them Pronto Markets. Ten years later it became obvious that the convenience store formula needed some refinements so Joe then opened the first Trader Joe’s store in 1967 in Pasadena, CA. He was aware of the changing demographics and decided to leverage his G. I. Bill benefits to garner a better education. It was at that point that he decided to deliver something different. The nautical theme he decided on has certainly paid off! Team members still consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas” and are known for being nice, helpful, and well informed as well as for their bright, tropical-patterned shirts.
