We’re up to our eyeballs with work for Trader Joe’s. This most recent re-order has SignWorks cranking out more decals for the Danville and Brooklyn, New York stores. And we have a few additional orders for 12” x 12” red cut vinyl decals at the Los Angeles and Santa Cruz, CA stores. The Washington and Brooklyn stores have ordered more “NOT AN EXIT” 12” X 5” signs and it seems that these items are used frequently throughout the network of retail stores. We are thankful for the work and it keeps our plotter quite busy!
All of the Trader Joes art files are loaded into our system for these and other signs, including the pictured 12” x 12” red cut vinyl decals used at their retail stores. We also have art for their banners, parking signs, posts, signicades, etc. We typically process their orders and ship them in just a matter of days. Like many retailers, they use a variety of cut vinyl decals including red address lettering for store windows, as well as for the store name and operating hours. All of the decals are pre-masked to make them easier to install.
The company has a well-established brand identity that has been developed over several years and Trader Joe’s is extremely popular where I live. I personally shop there all the time because their products are well priced and I love the broad selection of fruits, vegetables, breads, cheeses, wines and so much more.
Trader Joe’s was founded in 1958 by Joe Coulombe who took over a small chain of convenience stores around the LA area and called them Pronto Markets. Ten years later it became clear that the convenience store formula needed some adjustments and Joe then opened the first Trader Joe’s store in 1967 in Pasadena, CA. He noticed the changing demographics and decided to leverage his G. I. Bill benefits to garner a better education. That’s when he decided to deliver something different. The nautical theme he envisioned has certainly paid off. Team members still consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas” and are known for their bright, tropical-patterned shirts as well as generally being nice, helpful, and well informed.
