SignWorks was pleased to be selected by San Leandro based McNely Construction to provide ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signs for De La Salle High School in Concord. Initially the client ordered seven 9” X 9” acrylic signs that were second surface mounted along with three medium grey colored backers which would be used on the back side of those signs being mounted to glass. A subsequent decision resulted in the signs being changed to square cornered ADA signs with braille and tactile (raised) lettering similar to the sample pictured.
SignWorks uses several vendors for this type of work and immediately began the proofing process. Once the clients edit and corrections were incorporated, the fabrication process began. Part of the process included sending a sample sign to our vendor so that the paint color could be exactly matched. Custom ADA signs, especially those requiring a paint color match, take 15-20 business days to complete. Given the school opening schedule, the shipping had to be expedited so that the signs would arrive timely. As a company, we are quite accustomed to tight schedules and we do our best to be conscientious about delivery dates.
