SignWorks had recently completed and delivered all the signage for Cahill Contractors’ project at Fremont High, including a set of dimensional letters spelling out the school’s name. Though we had provided shop drawings that were approved, the architects decided after the fact that they wanted to use a different font for the lettering and make it consistent with what was used for Increment 1 lettering. That being said, SignWorks immediately contacted our wholesaler to have new lettering made in the font Avenir Medium at 12” tall and in brushed aluminum. The serif font in the picture is being replaced by the lettering as pictured in the proof.
Because the art was readily available we were able to have a revised proof with the new font ready in just one day (June 18) and new lettering in our clients’ hands by June 24 based on expedited shipping. To the extent possible, Gemini matched the stud mounting holes so as to minimize the amount of paint and patch work that Cahill would need to do in the field.
This was our third school renovation signage project with Cahill and we have a fourth in the works through our partnership with FOCON Construction.
