SignWorks was pleased to have been selected to work on this project for Ryan Stewart Communications, a voice, data, video communications contractor based in Livermore. The van graphics had become outdated and the management wanted to incorporate a more up to date look while ensuring that the update would be budget friendly.
Working closely with our designer the client brought the vehicle in for the obsoleted graphics to be measured. The client consulted with us on the existing elements (a clown like character) that they wanted to eliminate. We reviewed the options and came up with a new design palette represented by two 18” wide by 10” tall replacement decals for the doors, two 38” by 24” replacement decals for the sides of the van, a 24’ by 20” decal for the front, and a rear decal measuring 18” by 15”. We also incorporated cut vinyl text elements into the new design and the resulting vinyl graphics were color matched which gave the client the professional updated look they were after.
Our next meeting was to go over the installation as we now needed to access the ease (or difficulty) associated with the removal of the existing vinyl graphics. Vinyl that has been in place for a long time and exposed to lots of sun can be very difficult and time consuming to remove. Depending on the quality of the materials used the vinyl may come off in large sections or in sections smaller than a postage stamp! This can make estimating removal time extremely difficult. Thankfully, the task fell within the timeframe we had estimated.
