SignWorks recently completed an engraving project for Hayward based Melrose Nameplate & Label Company in record time. We had quoted the project months ago and for varying quantities of these custom size engraved plates. However, once the decision was made to move forward we were able to expedite the process so that the order was placed on a Thursday and was fabricated and shipped the following Tuesday. The 16 engraved signs were 1.31” X 4.68” and while fairly small, required detailed custom engraving as shown in the picture sample.

Melrose Nameplate and label Company is a local manufacturing based in Hayward. The company was founded in 1939 when it began manufacturing nameplates in the Melrose district of Oakland. During World War II their identification products were very much a part of the war effort given the companies close proximity to the shipbuilding yards and heavy industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the last 20 years the company has diversified and become one of the top manufacturers of complex engineering products, including industrial labels and nameplates.
