Union City, CA – Local Food Supplier Replaces Damaged Logo Sign, Part 2

BY: CHERYL ARCHER, SignWorks Inc.

We just completed installing the second, larger post and panel sign at La Terra Fina  in Union City.  A patron had collided into the existing 96” wide by 28” sign making replacing it a necessity!  We had replaced the smaller 36” wide by 28” tall on Friday and updated the branding which changed recently.  Branding decisions such as these are generally made by the client’s corporate marketing department which made the job of laying out the signs fairly straight forward.  Of course, there are still design proofs that the client approves just to make sure that we don’t introduce any errors be it a simple typo, font selection or a mistake in the color.

Both signs were redone using an aluminum composite called DiBond.  The material is rigid with corrugated plastic sandwiched between two thin sheets of aluminum.  The combination makes for a strong rigid panel that is light weight and extremely durable.  A perfect choice for the exterior and used a lot for signs that attached directly to a building façade.  The DiBond panels had been lettered with the client’s logo and text using premium vinyl graphics.  We had set the posts for the replacement post and panel sign but the old footings had to be dug out and the new concrete footings needed a little more time to set.  The previous signs had raised dimensional lettering on them, however, the owner’s decided to economize and use vinyl lettering instead.

The restaurant food supplier is local to the Bay Area and was started in 1983 by a caterer who became known for her delicious quiches and dips.  The chef inspired product list has grown and the stores supply many products for grocery and club stores throughout the Bay area.

SignWorks continues to work with companies large and small on their post and panel signs, as well as DiBond signs in general.  We also work for with client’s who need to economize and stay within a specific budget.  Whether you already have a logo or need design assistance, we know we can help.  Call us at (510) 357-2000 or visit our website to view some of our project photos and learn more about our work.
