We like, every sign manufacturing company, have our favorites when it come to the ever popular dimensional letter or logo sign. They come in a variety of materials including, formed plastic, flat cut acrylic or metal, cast and fabricated metals, as well as metal laminates mounted to foam or acrylic.  Channel letters are large fabricated metal signs that can be illuminated.  Many retailers and banks use illuminated channel letters to enhance their night time visibility and to attract customers to their location.

Most sign companies do not fabricate their dimensional letters in-house, but use a wholesale supplier.  SignWorks, typically orders its dimensional letters and logos from  Gemini, one of the largest wholesale manufacturers in the country, and one that offers a life time warranty on all it products when used in their intended environments.  For example, metal laminate letters mounted to foam are an affordable option that is perfect for indoors.  They are not recommended for the exterior even though in the temperate climates like California, they tend to last a very long time, even outdoors.

Many business will use dimensional letters to spell out the company name, often with the logo, on the exterior of their building.  They will also use a dimensional sign in the lobby or reception area to welcome guests and suppliers and to help advertise and market their brand.

Others mount their interior dimensional letters to an acrylic backer using standoffs so that periodic painting and maintenance tasks have little impact on the signage, e.g. it does not have to be professionally removed or re-installed.
