Two years ago we worked with AdvicePeriod on coming up with their dimensional logo lobby sign made from ½” thick acrylic represented by two commas and a period, and using their corporate logo colors. The orange in the logo was a custom paint color and both colors were done in an uncoated matte-like finish. The end result is a sign that is both highly noticeable and unique. It creates a very memorable first impression when new clients visit their facility.
The client had originally found us through our website, and while we are not located in the Los Angeles area, they had decided to work with us due to their confidence that we would be able to do the job. They had been impressed by what they saw on our website and the range of projects we had designed, fabricated and installed. Our trusted wholesaler, Gemini, had supplied the original sign and we had worked with a Signworld partner (Superior Signs & Graphics in the Buena Park area) to complete the original installation. Having a network of 240 plus Signworld affiliates that can facilitate remote installations across the country certainly helps! The message is that geography doesn’t need to get in the way of your successful sign project.
A few weeks ago we got the call from our client that they were moving to a different suite at the same building and wanted SignWorks to assist with moving their lobby sign. The target date was Friday, October 20 which meant that we needed to make sure that we reordered the dimensional letter placement template. Even though the sign isn’t complex the template helps to assure that the lettering is evenly spaced from side to side and top to bottom. This is called Kerning. The lobby, as shown in the picture above, isn't complete yet but the sign is there and waiting for the rest of the furnishings!
