We were recently contacted by an out of Area Indian Reservation that wanted to improve visibility for their Casino and Store given the close proximity to the highway.  SignWorks, Inc., Hayward, CA  designed and laid out the back lit channel letters using the client supplied building rendering.  The goal was to maximize the size and visibility from the highway, especially at night.  To make sure the sign got lots of attention we used bright red lettering and very chunky font, as shown in the approval rendering above.

The finished artwork for the 42” tall channel letters was then sent to one of our trusted wholesale manufacturers, along with specifications for materials, colors and lighting to be used.  Our vendor fabricated the sign and provided schematics for the local electrician who would install the sign.  It’s worth noting that today’s LED bulbs are longer lasting and use less electricity than their predecessors which results in lower operating and maintenance costs.

While working with a client that is remotely located it is essential that there is good communication at each stage of development from design, production and all the way through delivery. Our vendor was careful enough to build a special crate so the channel letters would not be damaged during the freight delivery process. The Fort Independence Indian Reservation was established by the U. S. military in 1850, initially as a military camp.  The military grew crops and supplies for their soldiers by diverting water.  Settlers to the area also did the same thing.  Over time the native people began to inhabit the area given the lack of water to the native plants and grasses which they depended on for their survival.
