A few years back we worked on a sign project for staff at U.C. Berkeley, my Alma Mater. The project had many elements including vinyl wall graphics that included the famed Cal Bear! Staff chose budget friendly ½” thick foam letters with a brushed aluminum laminate face giving the sign depth coupled with a modern metallic look. This is the upscale yet affordable look that many of our corporate clients are choosing as well.
The bold font style is consistent with the lettering used throughout the campus and is very legible and easy to read. These 6” tall letters can be viewed clearly from quite a distance.
Our designer was careful to make sure the client received a proof of exactly how the sign would look prior to ordering the letters because sometimes clients will view a proof and decide that the sign needs to be bigger or sometimes smaller. This is why it’s so important to have art approval as part of the process. It allows an opportunity for review and change, if needed.
The sign pictured above carries a life time warranty from our wholesale supplier, Gemini. Once the client approved the art we ordered the letters and pattern to make for a smooth installation. We think the smooth installation is evidenced by the picture above.
Located in Berkeley, CA this public university is known for its research focus. It was founded in 1868 and is the oldest of ten research universities. It attracts some of the brightest minds from across the globe and had enrollment of over 38,000 students in 2015!
There many options when it comes to dimensional letter and logos. These include flat cut acrylic, metallic (including laminates), with thicknesses up to 1”, as well as cast or fabricated metals.
