Full wraps or simple cut vinyl graphics applied to vehicle, whether it’s an SUV or a large trailer, have one thing in common. While a full wrap using specialty vinyl from 3M, Avery, Oracal or others, is more expensive than simply cut vinyl messaging, a digital print from nose to bumper can be more eye catching, especially with the use of bright colors. The specialty vinyl used for these types of nose to bumper wraps, depending on the price point, can last from five to as much as 10 years. This type of vinyl use air egress channels which allows it to be repositioned easily around the curves and edges of the vehicle. And, since the paint underneath is protected from the elements, if the business decides on new branding or messaging the vinyl can be removed without damage to the paint underneath with only marginal effort. Traditional vehicle cut vinyl lettering can be removed but requires more effort.
What many of our clients have done is to pick a strategy somewhere in the middle! In fact, our company vehicle (an SUV) pictured above is a great example of this. We wrapped the rear panels and back of the vehicle using specialty wrap vinyl along with window perforation. We used a colorful digital print pattern in our corporate colors, but chose simply vinyl lettering on the door panels and sides. This blended approach is very budget friendly!
