Everyone wants a good deal but sometimes it’s truly worth avoiding a “Cheap” vehicle wrap. Areas of concern include the following:

Poor Quality Installation: A reputable shop will use certified installers who have been professionally trained. Even if the wrap is being installed in another state, the shop will have access to certified installers nationwide. When installation issues occur, e.g. poor adhesion or vinyl quality issues, the shop will stand behind the durability rating (warranty) associated with the vinyl that was used and return it to the manufacturer for replacement.

Design: A vehicle wrap or fleet graphics supplier will have an in-house designer on staff. This person will be experienced enough to manipulate the design such that branding and other important visual effects are legible and placed in readable areas on the vehicle. Avoiding key messaging falling in and around door jams is essential.

Professional Appearance: The wrap should be free of wrinkles and bubbles and should last about five years. Seems or tears in the material mean that poor quality vinyl is being used and that the installation is substandard. Edges that are trimmed crooked or vinyl that is discolored, are also telltale signs. Also, the wrap should be 100% removable without paint damage to the vehicle.

Price: If it seems too good to be true, it is! Obviously, the size of the vehicle has a direct bearing on the price. A full vehicle wrap for a small car should be approximately $2,000, for a medium sized one $2,350 and for a full sized car or small van $2,650. A partial wrap, depending on the area being covered, can range from $800 to $1,600. That being said, if you are being quoted $500 for a full wrap you should be very suspicious.

The bottom line is that choosing a cheap wrap will cost you more in the long run because you will likely have to have it removed and reinstalled.
