Sometimes a project takes on a life of its own based on committee decision making. This was the case with the Muni Geneva Historic Car Project signage. While the City of San Francisco has some very exacting ADA signage requirements the folks at MUNI decided that their signage would incorporate other design elements such as additional tactile (raised) symbols, color coding and Braille, beyond that required by the Fire Marshall. This very exacting custom ADA design work and the associated project management skills needed for working with large constituencies with sometimes conflicting directives, is something that SignWorks is extremely good at. We worked tirelessly with multiple vendors to make certain that the interior restroom, facilities and evacuation map signs complied with every aspect of MUNI’s requirements and specifications. The project is now complete and the photograph below shows a cross section of some of the signs that were fabricated.
