What is Permanent Signage?    We have many customers that ask for "Permanent Signage".   We start the next part of the conversation around "What is Permanent?" There are very few items in this world that are permanent.   Actually, I have a hard time thinking of any.  The pyramids were built very durably but are still coming down.  The Romans built some wonderful structures and yet they are breaking down.  The earth and sun are pretty well built and yet all the scientists tell us that their days are numbered at some point. This issue really boils down to expectations.  What should we expect from a "permanent sign".  Without any maintenance, one to two years - probably isn't a bad estimate.  We some proper care and maintenance, a "Permanent Sign" should be able to last a good 10 - 15 years.  With poor care and maintenance, the sign life will be dramatically reduced.  The sun and weather are formidable forces that take their toll on the finishes of signs.   The quality of materials that go into a sign also have a tremendous effect on the longevity of the sign. The other aspect you need to think about is "Exactly how long do I want the sign to last?"  Do you really want it to last 10 years.  With the pace of change nowadays, 10 years is an eternity.  You wouldn't even consider using the same ad or website design for 10 years without a change.   Five to Six years for a sign should be more than adequate to get the return on investment and then provide you with an opportunity to update your image to keep it fresh to your customers.   "Permanent" is really not what it's cracked up to.  So think about it, before your nest signage project.  You don't want to put more cost into a sign than you really need.
