Every business must start with a strategy, which is most commonly known as the choices they make to position the firm to succeed in their industry.  Strategic planning is the process that follows and refers to the development of specific goals and tactics to be employed by the company to execute on the strategy.

• Ensure a conducive environment: putting together a comfortable area where your team would feel at ease to have specific strategic discussions is just as important as ensuring that the climate attracts creativity.
• Establish the plan: many professionals experience anxiety when it comes time to create a strategic plan. At first, the task can feel daunting, but your coach or consultant will help you to engage in the process using a format the is clear and logical.
• Execute unapologetically: once complete, you should meet with your team members or executives quarterly or monthly to review and analyze results versus the established plan. It is not enough to have a plan; plans can fail if proper structures haven't been established for execution.
