For me, doing Pilates it’s it’s a personal journey, says Shannon Willits. I had a bad, low back. I was young. I was fit. I was so strong and my back hurt all the time. And my friend said, Shannon, you need to come take my Pilates class.

And I’m like, well, what’s that? And I did. And I tell you what, after one class. Realized that this was different because my back felt better after just one class. And then I took my first Pilates. My first Pilates course. And I learned that it was my posture. Simply the way that I carried my body was stressing out my lower back.

And, you know, through the, through the courses, I realized that everybody was like that, you know, everybody, you know, you hear people, they talk about their aches and pains, but then when you look at them, at least for me as a stroke instructor, I’m like, oh my gosh, I see why.
