Remove Moisture
Mold growth is not possible unless there is moisture. Use dehumidifiers to remove the moisture. Set a 30% to 60% humidity level, which should be sufficient for indoors.
Use a High-Quality Carpet Padding

Use Carpeting in the Right Areas
Installing carpeting in areas that frequently remain exposed to moisture will only make mold prevention difficult. Thus, one great strategy is to use them on floors that are likely to remain dry.
Immediately Remove Standing Water
Following a leak or spillage, your carpets can be exposed to water. If that happens, your carpet will only be salvageable if you clean and dry the top and bottom surfaces of the carpet, the carpet padding as well as the floor underneath within a short time period after the spillage or leak. If it remains exposed to standing water for long, the carpet will have to be replaced.
