Joseph’s Menswear & Custom Tailoring needed a 3D letter building sign in San Diego, CA. However, this sign had to fit in with the signage permitted in The Mercado Shopping Center. Moreover, this sign had to meet the expectations of the store’s owner, who requested a bold sign without the built-in illumination so many other vendors have chosen.
Working Within the Requirements of a Property Management Company and the Client
Making our clients happy is what we do. In this setting, we had to meet this goal while also following the rules set forth by the shopping center’s management company. We determined that the best way to do so was to begin with a site survey.
During this survey, we took measurements of the facade, determined the ideal sizing of the sign’s elements, and noted the signage that neighboring businesses display. The goal is to have signage that stands out, attracts attention, and fits in with the overall style of the setting.
Fabricated Aluminum Letters Mimic the Great Look of Channel Letters without the LEDs
For this project, our technicians worked with fabricated aluminum letters. They are three inches deep, which is on par with most channel letter signs. The logo next to the company’s name also features this construction. The resulting combination is an immediate attention-getter that stands out in the space.
For the niche specification, we used half-inch thick acrylic. It features the same custom color. The combination of depths lets the name create some shadow play that boosts the great impression the combination of elements makes.
