Dayton’s old houses have character that we all love. One thing that comes with them is old systems and large trees. This combination is bad for sewer lines and can often cause blockage. This can end up messy in a finished basement that gets soaked with this backed-up sewage.
Luckily the homeowners in Kettering called their insurance agent on a Saturday who referred Service Team of Professionals (STOP). Stop arrived within an hour with a 2 man crew to begin tearing out the carpet and processing the furnishings.
With sewage its basic, wear full protection, tear out anything porous and clean everything. After the carpet was removed STOP cleaned one side of the basement to create a sanitized area. Then the furnishings were cleaned and moved to the clean area. Later the effected drywall was removed, the rest of the floor and framing was washed and rinsed many times over. STOP was retained to perform the rebuild of the walls, painting and trim however work would begin after some plumbing work was performed.
In the end the walls and trim were back to normal and the customer was very happy with the service that STOP provided.
