We made the attached video to show how different a custom office lobby sign can be even when using the same materials for fabrication. Recently, we completed business lobby signs for Bryenton Family Chiropractic in Tustin, Zagiri in Irvine, and the Fountain Law Group in Newport Beach. All of these signs were made with brushed aluminum facing, yet each is distinctly different. This is because each client logo is unique. The surrounding wall coloring or furnishings are distinctly different, and the way each sign was mounted differ. Brenton Family Chiropractic uses a highly stylized B in script form which is very elegant, traditional, and stunning in brushed aluminum. Because of the detail involved in the logo it made sense to mount the sign flush to the wall rather than offset. We selected PVC as the substrate to mount the brushed aluminum facing on. This makes for a durable sign which can be easily pulled off of the wall, if needed, and relocated. Zagiri, designers of fine men’s clothing based in Irvine, wanted to create even more dimensionality with their custom lobby sign. We accomplish this by custom fabricating studs which were drill mounted directly into the wall. This is an offset mounting which allows the letters to float off of the wall and create shadow. This adds a dramatic dimensionality to the sign which complements the simple elegance of the Zagiri logo. As the sun moves across the sky throughout the day the depth and angle of the shadowing changes. Fountain Law Group also selected a sign with dimensionality but rather than stud mounting the individual letters to the wall, they opted for the individual letters to be mounted on a substrate of clear acrylic which we mounted using then used brushed aluminum standoffs. We flame polished the edges of the acrylic for a very clean, professional look. This approach is perfect for a law office because it is both modern and professional. You may know exactly what you want your business or office sign to look like or you may not have a clue. There are so many options, we are truly limited only by our imaginations!
