I was born in Randolph County, North Carolina. I began my career in the mortgage industry as a Loan Processor at Oakwood Homes. Four years after, I was offered a position in an Apprenticeship as a State Certified Real Estate Appraiser, then I was state certified 2 years later and remained in this position for 5 years. During the end part of my career as an appraiser, I joined a partnership to start my own Mortgage Brokerage. That was April 1995. I eventually had so much business, I quit the Real Estate Appraisal position and focused on building my mortgage business instead. In the early 2000s, my business was the largest Mortgage Brokerage in Central North Carolina. We employed twenty-two Mortgage Loan Originators and two Processors and the business was licensed in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Louisiana. It was during this time that I met my now wife…on-line. We were some of the first to do internet dating. We then married in our late 30’s and it was our first marriage for both of us. ”Life was Really Good.” Then came the awful recession of 2008. We closed the business in September of 2009. After closing down, I went on to sell insurance, then bought a Sears Hometown Store franchise, became a Financial Advisor... but none of these fit what I was looking to do. The economy in our area never really recovered, so my wife and I made the decision to move from North Carolina to Cape Coral, FL. The economy here is better so I decided to go back into mortgages. I opened Elite Mortgage Source, LLC in 2018. I am a full-service mortgage broker which gives me the option to close all kinds of mortgage loans with hundreds of wholesale mortgage companies looking for my business. I am so happy to be back in the mortgage industry where I thrive. “Life is Really Good” again!
