The preschool at 3333 Watkins Drive used to be known as the Development Center UC Riverside. The administration determined that the Center for Early Childhood Education was a better name for the facility. With the building name change came the need to update the property’s monument sign.

The old setup featured three-dimensional lettering mounted to the face. Our solution for covering up the holes and other marks left behind by the letters was a refacing. Not only did it allow us to maintain the integrity of the monument’s structure, but it also kept costs down for the client.

The client liked the idea, and our technicians went to work. They produced cast vinyl graphics using the same design and UCR’s color palette that we had previously used. Next, we mounted the imprinted vinyl on aluminum composite panels. The materials do well in direct sunlight and are sufficiently sturdy to withstand rainstorms and similar inclement weather.
