Located at 6617 Cherry Avenue, Soul Food Renaissance is a restaurant with an extensive menu. Among the favorites are the Hungry Man meals that are ideal for sharing as well as the oxtail dishes. However, the southern style restaurant had a problem. Its awning looked tattered, and its interior lacked pizzazz. It recently changed its name. It was time to do something. The eatery’s owner contacted us to get some help with the signage.

We met with the client for a consultation. We started with goal setting. What should the signage accomplish? The owner wanted something that would brand the restaurant and add ambiance. Also, it should make guests excited about coming back and trying other dishes. But at this point, there were only bare white walls and hand-painted letters on the glass.

The space had a huge white focal wall. It was perfect for the creation of a mural. We showed the owner some of the work we had done and posted to our website gallery. These displays sparked the idea of creating a customized collage that shows appetizing images of the soul food dishes the eatery offers. By taking inspiration from the color palette the business was going to use for decorative purposes, we created a unique look that drastically changes the atmosphere of the locale.

We used cut vinyl. Next, we added hours of operation to the door. Our technicians finished the look with a reverse-cut stripe that spells out Soul Food Renaissance’s tagline. For a finishing touch to the job, we did a temporary banner for the torn awning. Because it is being replaced, there is no point in adding a permanent sign to it.
