Empowering Bolton Realtors to Set and Smash Goals

How can realtors in Bolton set and achieve goals that truly elevate their business, income, and client impact this year? As a FocalPoint coach specializing in the real estate space, I’ve discovered that goal setting for realtors requires a nuanced approach.

The traditional vision board route simply doesn’t cut it. Realtors need goal setting frameworks that instill accountability, tangibility, and motivation required to turn goals into reality.

The practices I’ve curated stem from the science of achievement, motivation, and coaching. By implementing them diligently, Bolton realtors can realize exponential returns from their efforts. Yes, that includes you.

First, home in on E.D.G.E. goals. These goals are Exciting, Doable, Grounded, and Exact. Let’s break that down:

Exciting – Your goals should align with your values, passions, and vision for your real estate business. The ‘why’ behind your goals must spark intrinsic motivation and deep fulfillment.
Doable – Size up your goals to stretch your abilities while still being achievable with focus and perseverance. Set yourself up for wins.
Grounded – Ensure your goals clearly translate into tangible business, financial, expertise, and relationship outcomes.
Exact – Quantify your goals and milestones so you can track advancement and ROI.

For instance, “I will close 25 transactions this year to earn an additional $100k in commissions and serve more families” is an E.D.G.E. goal. Notice how specific yet energizing it is.

Now here’s where the magic happens – plotting backwards. Once you’ve set audacious yet realistic E.D.G.E. goals, plan backwards from them.

What daily, weekly, and monthly wins will accumulate into your big objective? Get granular with measurable milestones across all time frames that support your 12 month bullseye.

Brainstorm every step of activity and success that builds towards the end goal. Populate your calendar with these incremental tasks and markers. Now you have a concrete roadmap.

You may be wondering – how and when do I work on my massive goals alongside my nonstop realtor responsibilities?

This is where the 60/20 principle comes in clutch. It’s human nature to think we need large swaths of time to make progress on big goals. In reality, consistent small steps using the 60/20 method can unlock greater results.

Here’s how it works:

– For 60 minutes each morning, devote focused time on your number one business development goal. No distractions allowed.
– During the work day, spend 20 minutes moving the needle on that key goal via specific tasks. Set calendar reminders.
– In the evening, reflect on your progress and refinement needed.

That 60/20 investment compounds daily, resulting in huge progress over months. The focused time blocks ensure you chip away at top goals amidst the client demands.

Now, how do you make those precious minutes as productive as possible? Time blocking is imperative. For each goal task, define the precise outcome and metrics to track.

Then eliminate all distractions – email, phone, colleagues. Lock in and let absolutely nothing break your flow during those 20 or 60 minute sprints. It’ll be difficult initially, but eventually hyperfocus becomes habit.

Speaking of habits, instill regular accountability checkpoints into your broader plan. These will enhance clarity and motivation needed to stick with your goals.

I suggest bi-weekly check-ins with a peer, coach, or mentor to examine progress and troubleshoot obstacles. Having social accountability will inspire consistency, especially on the tough days.

Equally valuable are monthly solo check-ins on the 1st of each month. Print out your goals calendar and thoroughly assess achievement, lessons, and modifications needed. Doing so keeps your goals top of mind.

And remember, progress isn’t linear. You’ll experience setbacks, doubts, and days where you just don’t feel like putting in the work. That’s entirely normal. Reframe obstacles as opportunities to learn and redirect. Eyes on the prize.

By embracing the E.D.G.E method, plotting backwards, employing the 60/20 principle, time blocking, and building in accountability – you set yourself up for goal achievement in 2023.

Gone are the days of vague ambitions and passive wishing. This is your year to turn goals into measurable, tangible outcomes – I’m eager to help. Let’s connect!
