Birmingham, AL Digital Marketing Expert Explains YouTube Shorts and Answers FAQs

Posted in: Industry News

Welcome to our latest week in review here at Fusion One Marketing! Last week our content was geared toward some important digital marketing updates and topics.

On our latest blog, we talked about YouTube Shorts, which was created in direct response to Tik Tok and Instagram Reels’ popularity. YouTube is now taking its platform to a more social media-like, user-friendly site with this update.

Youtube Shorts

While YouTube has offered the ability to film and edit content directly on the platform, it’s been a largely unused tool. Now, they’re offering even more detailed editing similar to that of Reels and Tik Tok. These videos are different from the usual videos uploaded because they’re meant to be in portrait mode or vertically fit to the phone. YouTube has even offered an incentive for creators by mentioning they can make quite a bit of money by uploading YouTube Shorts.

If you’re already using TikTok and Reels to post content this is a great opportunity for you to reach more people. However, just remember that these apps like to penalize you for posting videos with another app’s logo, so it’s worth it to just edit in the app directly.

Our next bit of content comes from the ladies of Marketing Mix. On their podcast, they discussed some common questions they get asked.

Here are 8 marketing facts you should know:

  1. You can have 2 domains pointing to the same website.
  2. It’s important that your social media handles match for good branding.
  3. Yes, people still use Bing and it’s important for SEO. It is the default search engine for all Microsoft products.
  4. Instead of putting your business on every social media platform, just determine where your audiences are. It’s better to do well on a few targeted platforms vs spread yourself too thin and not do any of them justice.
  5. Microsoft 365 and Google Business don’t require your email to match your website domain.
  6. You should put your business in as many directories as possible.
  7. Consistently uploading blogs on your website helps SEO and keeping your readers updated.
  8. Apple Maps is Apple’s version of Google Maps. However, Siri is tied to it so businesses can be found through voice search if they are on Apple Maps.
  9. Generating different content, whether it be blogs, podcasts, or videos, has many benefits. In marketing, it’s important for SEO.
