Mary Talbert owns Crafted Quad Cities in downtown Davenport, IA. For a long while–too long for Mary–she was without a real sign to identify her business.
Riverbend Signworks has enjoyed a new relationship with Mary. She is very active in promoting her business, which offers local, handmade crafts and pieces of artwork. She is also a designer, by trade, and can assist clients with digital or tactile design ideas.
According to Mary, “The sign is awesome! I’ve already had customers in because of it.” She made this statement the day after the sign was installed.
All she needed was an attractive set of dimensional letters mounted to the front of her building and the customers started to come. There is no better way than a business sign to attract new customers to a store. You just need to make sure the sign is easy to read and properly positioned.
This project consisted of 16″ flat cut acrylic letters that are 3/4″ thick and finished in a metallic silver paint. The letters are stud mounted directly to the brick face. The install required nothing more than a drill pattern, a ladder, a hammer drill and some silicone for extra adhesion.
This is just a simple testimony of the importance of knowing how customers find your business. Customers want to feel like they are walking into a store that is going to make them comfortable.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) states that, “Signs are the most effective, yet least expensive, form of advertising for the small business.” In short, a business can afford to invest in a functional business sign. The investment will pay for itself, which is a very important concept for a small business.
There is a saying in the sign business–A business with no sign is a sign of no business.
