Project: Composite Sign Mounted on Stand Offs
Customer: Scott County Family YMCA
Location: Bettendorf, IA
The Scott County Family YMCA in Bettendorf, IA was in need of an updated sign. The Y wanted an updated large dimensional letter “Y” for the building. We were contacted by the Y’s director, Frank K, and when we met with the him we gave him several choices for this project, including Channel letters. Ultimately, they chose the flat composite material mounted on stand offs. Since the building had existing outdoor lighting, the sign is already perfectly displayed at night.
The “Y” is ten feet high and is constructed with a commonly used composite sign material. This is an outdoor sign and when we were ready for installation it was the dead of winter, which presented some challenges. We worked to install the sign as quickly as we could so that the Y could enjoy the benefit of their new sign.

The new sign really helps to identify the building from the road and bring attention to this amazing facility. The Bettendorf “Y” provides local residents with a variety of spaces and equipment where they can exercise and enjoy recreation. Now local residents can find the YMCA without looking too hard because it really is easy to see with the new sign.
When the weather gets cool in Bettendorf, Iowa, the residents head indoors to exercise and enjoy their local facilities from the YMCA. The “Y” was an excellent company to work with and they truly care about people. They are a pillar of the community and it really felt great to be chosen for this project.
