Recently, we received a call from a Dan & Paulette Y., homeowners who live in the high desert of Albuquerque, NM. Take a look at the pictures in this article. They show Dan and Paulette’s home with window film applied. As you can see in the photos, their home gets a lot of direct sunlight to all four sides of the house.
Dan and Paulette were having a problem with brightness and glare in their living room. Their television is located in the living room, and the sun was causing so much glare that they couldn’t see the TV. In addition to the glare issue, they also reported to us that the room was becoming excessively hot and uncomfortable. So there were 2 problems that needed to be solved.
We installed window tinting film made by a company called Huper Optik. We applied film to the windows in their living room and eliminated the glare problem, which made the TV easy to see during the day, as opposed to only at night. They don’t have to close any blinds or shades in order to watch TV, and can enjoy their favorite programs, while still allowing natural light into the room.
The window film also blocks almost all of the heat from the sun – up to 98%. Now the room is more comfortable than ever and doesn’t need air conditioning to keep it at a manageable temperature. In addition to the solar heat, the film also blocks up to 99.9% of ultraviolet rays.
Ultraviolet rays can cause damage to human skin, leading to cancer in many cases, if someone is exposed to too much direct sunlight. They can also cause fading and cracking to your interiors like furniture, carpets, floors, walls and more. So not only did the window film solve the glare problem, but it also protects the homeowners and any family and guests that may visit, as well as all of their interiors.
After a recent eye surgery that Paulette had, it turns out window film is just what the doctor ordered. She's now much more comfortable in her home and has great piece of mind in knowing that they have protected their furniture and items inside from sun damage.
