Landscaping Advice | Summertime Fire Season

BY: ,

The fire season is fast approaching, now is a good time to start clearing  hills and back yards to ensure that excess weeds and brush don’t become a hazard in our homes. With the rains we had, the weeds and grass just keep growing, and some property owners have had to clear more than once already,

Fire officials typically want a “defensible space” cleared around homes, garages, sheds and propane tanks about this time of the year. Homes are less likely to ignite during wildfires if dry grasses and weeds are kept at least 100 feet away.
