Orlando, FL – How Much Sleep Do You Need When Trying to Conceive A Baby?

BY: Your Name, Your Business

When trying to get pregnant, we stress doing the most to keep your body in the healthiest shape possible – meaning diet changes, exercising and in many cases SLEEP! That’s right! Changing the amount of time and getting good quality sleep can do wonders to improve your chances of conceiving!

It is vital to get 6-8 hours of sleep. Your body needs rest! If this is hard for you then change your surroundings. Make sure your room is very dark as this will raise the melatonin levels in your body. Also making sure the room is at a cool 65° will help you sleep faster. Do not stay up scrolling on your phone!

The same part of the brain that releases your sleepy time and awake chemicals (melatonin and cortisol) also triggers the release of your reproductive hormones! The hormones that trigger ovulation in women and the sperm-maturation process in men are tied into the body’s sleep-wake patterns.

LACK of sleep can be detrimental to your reproductive health! Try to schedule out the time it takes to actually fall asleep if you have trouble with this – getting into bed, turning off the tv, do not use the computer and cellphone, and wind down so you can maximize on the actual amount of time spent sleeping. If you experience nausea, insomnia, restlessness while sleeping, it can be caused by spending too much time on your phone before falling asleep. Try to minimize screen time by switching to reading books or even doing some relaxing coloring.

All in all, having the correct lifestyle changes can positively affect your chances of getting pregnant and can start with something as simple as getting the right amount of sleep.
