Practicing self-care isn’t always easy. Self care can definitely be one of those things that we often overlook. If you are embarking on, or continuing on your fertility journey, self care is especially important. Here are some easy ways you can practice more self-care in our normal routines.
Sleep: Getting your 8 hours each night is especially important for your body’s general well being and can help you reset after each tiresome day. Creating a sleep-positive nighttime routine can help sleeping issues as well. Not eating close to bedtime and staying away from screens can not only increase the amount of sleep you get, but also increase your quality of sleep. Listening to your body’s sleep related needs help is an easy way to practice self care daily.
Eating right: As food is our body’s fuel, monitoring what you eat is a great way to practice more self care. Making sure you incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as well as drinking plenty of water can help you regulate and improve your general well being.
Learning to say no:
Saying no, especially to our loved ones, can be really hard. However, it’s important to do this when saying yes all the time contributes to our mental and physical exhaustion. Learning to say no and prioritize our own needs will tremendously help benefit our overall confidence levels and allows us more time to focus on our own personal life journeys.
Going outside: The great outdoors can do wonders for those who need to hit the reset button. The calming nature of many outside environments have proven time and time again beneficial not only physically, but to our mental well-being. Taking a stroll on a local trail or taking a trip to your nearest beach can make all the difference.
