Sign Materials – Part 1

To help you start thinking about different sign materials, we’ll start describing some of the many choices available.

  • Acrylic:  Durable plastic, can be colored, can be transparent or opaque, very, very common in sign making. Acrylic can be used as a substrate or a backer for interior corporate identity signs. The sign can then be decorated with printed vinyl, cut vinyl or dimensional letters or logos. Acrylic can come in many different colors and thicknesses. This is one of the most versatile and affordable materials used int he sign industry. Here are two examples below.

This is a nice option for a conference room, a reception lobby or an office space. Corporate identity and branding is important for many companies. Flat cut acrylic logos and letters can be mounted to drywall with stand-offs to create more dimension and a nice affect. They are also are a great way decorate your space.
