The owner of Stolen Moments originally operated her spa in Wheaton and moved to a larger facility in Naperville. She is located off of Freedom Drive in the huge destination shopping center in Naperville. They offer many services such as reflexology, waxing, massage, acupuncture and much more.This high-end location has many shops and restaurants to attract new customers. Her building sign needed to be custom, unique and eye-catching.

The owner worked with a design team to develop her logo and branding for the new location. Because the logo has a lot of detail in it, channel letters were not an option. If you look closely at the photo you can see the Effiel Tower incorporated into the “A” in Parisian Waxing. This detail was a  bit prohibitive when designing the sign. A lot of times when an outside design team designs a logo for a new business or is re-branding the business, they don’t take into account how the signage will reflect in  the design.

A simple way to solve this problem is to build the sign with push-through acrylic on the face that is edge-lit or face-lit. We rout out (cut out) the logo on the aluminum face and push through the acrylic to create dimension on the sign. You often see flat sign faces with vinyl graphics and a translucent background on a polycarbonate face. These signs are fine for strip malls and economy signs, but if you are in a high-end shopping center such as this one, and trying to lure customers in with a feeling of luxury as most up-scale spas are trying to do, you don’t want that type of sign. Fabricating a sign with an opaque aluminum painted background and routed push-through acrylic will give the sign a stylish look without breaking the bank.
