The Sign Authority recently installed a new custom logo sign for HS2 Solutions in Wheaton, IL. All of the three dimensional sign elements were cut from 1/4″ acrylic and were originally supposed to be flush mounted directly onto a wall. However, after doing an on location site survey, we discovered that the uneven surface of the rustic wood paneled wall would not accommodate this type of installation.

We immediately got to work on a solution to get around this roadblock, taking special care not to deviate from the original style of the sign, which presented a slick and professional branding of the customer’s business. The Sign Authority decided that the best way to solve this problem was to attach the cut-out acrylic logo pieces to a clear acrylic backer. Since the main part of the logo was finished with a brushed aluminum laminate, we used a system of matching aluminum stand-offs to mount the backer to the wall. This ended up adding depth to the sign, which was installed under a light to throw shadows on the surface behind it.

In addition to the logo sign, we also installed a wall-mounted series of graphic work done by HS2. After sending us the artwork they wanted us to display, we created high resolution prints and affixed them to PVC. These pieces were then mounted on the wall using a the same stand-off system as the logo sign.
