Back-Lit LED Channel Letters – Naperville, IL

Orders for large signs often come through the office here at The Sign Authority, and in some way or another, everyone in the office is involved. K Hovnanian Homes ordered a large, 228 sq ft., exterior sign for a office building they had just acquired and they looked to The Sign Authority to produce it.

To begin, with these types of orders we like to give the customer a mock-up of what their sign will look like when installed. This requires several photos of the area as well as measurements in order to size the sign correctly. Once the customer approves the mock-up and proofs, orders are sent out for the necessary materials.

K Hovnanian wanted a back-lit LED sign, a great choice for an exterior building sign. “Back-lit” refers to a type of sign lighting where a light source located within a sign is allowed to reflect off the mounting surface. The backs of the channel letter are usually made of a lexan material to allow this light through. The result is that the sign appears to be surrounded by a halo of light. The sign itself has a green metal backer, so the halo brightens up that backer resulting in a striking sight.
