SHOULD I CERAMIC COAT MY NEW CAR? SHOULD I DO PAINT CORRECTION ON MY NEW CAR?

These are often questions we get from people buying new vehicles. The response is, that depends on what you think. If you want your paint to be fine, as shiny as possible and once it is covered-then my answer to both questions is yes. Perfection is not required to some however, and only a clean car is enough. I would say, be less worried about paint removal, but take ceramic coating seriously.

By enhancing the gloss and keeping your car cleaner longer, a ceramic coating will provide better protection than any sealant or wax. Ceramic (or nano-coatings) coatings work better for several reasons. Sealants and waxes sit as a sacrificial layer on top of the paint that breaks down pretty quickly, is not chemical resistant and provides no additional strength for the paint. Nano-coatings are special since they are either quartz (most) or ceramic (few) nano-particles. Through the use of carrier fluids (fluids that work in the paint pores to’ bear’ the nano-sized particles), these nano-particles can work in the clear coat pores and cross the paint boundary. Thus, infusing quartz or ceramic into the paint increases the paint’s slickness (surface tension) and improves chemical etching resistance.

These characteristics are what you would like with any security on your paint, the best part is that they last 1-7 years depending on the coating you pick. So in summary, your new car’s ceramic coating is extremely beneficial for the safety, gloss and durability of your paint.

We have to be honest about what our aspirations are, though, and how we feel for our vehicle to make the decision if you want to cover your new vehicle. Coatings are not hard rock surfaces that avoid scratching, nor are they an impenetrable barrier to your paint, and will not keep your car completely clean all the time, magically. They allow you to care for your vehicle properly, for which many simply do not have the time. Some like running their car over the car wash and going about their day. I would say, if this is you, don’t invest in a coating, spend your money on another part of the car you might enjoy more.

If you are the type of person who will wash properly and keep up with the maintenance of the appearance of your vehicle on a regular basis, you intend to’ baby’ your new car and want it to look good; coatings will make it much easier for you. Proper hand washing of your painted car will reward you with a car that always looks clean, with extremely deep and shiny paint. If this is what you want with your new car, then coatings are a great option for you.

If you’ve purchased a new car and wonder how you want to secure it or if you’re trying to perfect it, then call us and we would be happy to provide the kind of service you need. We will think about what’s right for you, through all the choices.
