Interior Signage – Workhorses of the sign industry

Posted in: Uncategorized

When most people think signs they really mean exterior signage.  Backlit signs, billboards, real estate signs, that’s what we think of when we think signs.

I  encourage you to think for a moment about all the poor, hardworking signs that hide inside our workplaces.  When we walk into an office building there is almost always a directory sign (this is know as a way-finding sign)  How about the menu board in your favorite restaurant.

Once we have found figured out which office we need to find, we head toward the elevator.  You may notice that there is braille on the elevator ( this is disability signage)  We step out of the elevator and try to decide which direction to head.  We notice a sign the tells us that office 1010 to 1050 is to the left (more way-finding signage)

We open the door to the office we want and find a large glass plate with a corportate logo behind the receptionist (lobby signs) and in the seating area are letters that spell out the company name (dimensional lettering)

Finally, as we head down the hall we look for our prospect’s name on the door.( office signage)  Oh, there it is.  Did you notice the frosted glass beside the door. That was also done by an experienced sign company.

Interior signage tends to be more functional than exterior signage but it is no less useful.  Next time you are in a store or office building keep your eye open for signs and you’ll be amazed at what you see.  All supplied by your local full service sign company.
