Car Wraps – Matte Black is Top of the Pack

My first experience with a matte black vehicle wrap was in Southern California a few years ago.  Admittedly, I have to admit that at the time I really wondered why anyone would cover the beautiful paint of a Ferrari.really didn’t understand why anyone would want to cover up a the beautiful paint job on a Ferrari.  After all, I would have killed to get my hands on one to start with.

There’s been  a lot of water pass under the bridge since then and  when it comes to care paint,  particularly exotic cars, muscle cars and custom imports, matte black has become a standout.

Okay, so you want to change the colour of your car. Why not paint it?  There are a few really  good reasons. Firstly, the cost of an autowrap is likely to be far less than the cost of repainting your vehicle in matte black.  Somewhere between 1/3 to 1/5th of the cost to be precise.

More importantly, Car wraps can be removed if you want to change the colour of your car or if your vehicle is leased.  The surface underneath your wrap will have been protected for the entire time it was covered.

Lastly, technology has improved to the point that the quality of matte vehicle films are outstanding.  And with wide format printing you will have few seams on your vehicle.

Installation quality truly is important for both appearance and the durability of your wrap.  Preparation is the key to success.  All  moldings, trim, and other accessories should be removed from the car before starting the installation.  This will prevent paint lines from showing through the wrap.

The original matte wraps were on exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborginis.  Today they are within the reach of any car enthusiast looking for something different.
