Ready to Buy Your First Rifle After Training as a Shooter?

C2 Tactical recommends the LWRC semi-automatic rifle.

During the 1980s and 1990s, the military developed best practices for using different classes of weapons. In particular, tactical experts recommended submachine guns for specific battle applications. For example, the MP-5 was designated for close-quarters combat while the old M14 was used for long shots. However, tactics changed with the dawn of the 21st century when military and law-enforcement professionals began adopting long-range rifles in urban environments. This sudden shift prompted many manufacturers to try long-range rifles for non-military purposes.

Many people interested in shooting don’t care too much for the feel of small guns. They want to use submachine guns or highly accurate rifles. If you’d like to buy a semi-automatic rifle for your gun collection or to use during hunting season, we recommend the LWRC semi-auto.

LWRC Rifle Specifications

Here are the standard specs for LWRC IC-A5 semi-automatic rifles available at C2 Tactical:

  • Series: Individual Carbine (IC)
  • Barrel: 14.7 or 16.1 inches
  • Caliber: 5.56 NATO
  • Length: 32 – 35.25 inches
  • Weight: 7 – 7.3 lbs.
  • 9″ user-configurable rail system
  • Ambidextrous charging handle

Barrel Features

LWRC is a leading manufacturer of semi-automatic rifles, and the IC-A5 is one of its finest. The gun has two variants, with the option of a 16.1-inch or 14.7-inch barrel. IC-A5 rifles feature a free-floating barrel that redirects heat from the handguard, protecting the shooter from getting burned. This design makes the IC-A5 comfortable for use during long training sessions.

LWRC Handguards

LWRC handguards have an upper receiver attached directly to increase the durability and strength of the weapons. This adds stability compared to designs where the upper receiver attaches to a barrel nut. The rifle has a full-length top rail and threaded holes, allowing the shooter to add extra Picatinny rails.

An interesting feature of the LWRC IC-A5’s handguard is that the top is easily removed. The captured screws on the handguard can be effortlessly unscrewed by hand or a flathead screwdriver. Once the screws are out of the way, a shooter can lift the entire top section to peek inside.

Adjustable Gas System

Usually, silencers increase the backpressure in the gun’s mechanisms, increasing the fire rate and cycle speed for automatic weapons. In fact, regular use of silencers can also cause excessive wear, affecting the weapon’s performance. LWRC’s gas system solves this problem with an adjustable feature that allows suppressed and unsuppressed shooting. The adjustable gas system can reduce the back pressure to make the gun cycle normally.
