Signage FAQ’s | Sandblasted versus Routed Signs

Posted in: Industry News

Many times our customers need to see the difference between a sandblasted or routed sign.  This can depend on the look of the sign and function of the sign.  Most of the time we use a high density foam which is great for exterior signs. It won’t crack or rot like wood, yet offers some thickness that aluminum and wood signs don’t offer.  The sandblasted signs generally show a raised text and routed has flush surface.  One advantage to the routed text it can be harder for someone to vandalize the sign. No letters to pick off.  Both sign can be great looking and painted to your choice of colors.  A good use for sandblasted signs are community entrances and office buildings.   Many medical office complex use this type of sign on the wall. Some clients like the foam signs in their lobby for decoration. Perhaps a combination of routed and sandblasted will be good for your unique sign?Trinity health sandblasted,Carved owl feature,Routed wall sign
