Ground Sign in Tampa, FL for University of South Florida

Posted in: Industry News

Recently, we were asked to help design a sign that fit the style of a new building on USF campus, in Tampa, FL. The new building is part of an energy efficient structure and a special project. We decided a post and panel sign would feature various approved logos associated with the project. The logo format was designed by USF for us to print. USF FLex The print is laminated to protect it from UV and exntend the life of colors and material.  It was determined the building used a exposed steel feature so we could incorporate that into the post structure.  We used galvanized steel posts to look very similar to the metal on the building. The posts were finished with flat caps.

The aluminum backer makes a good mounting surface and again compliments the building design and features. Post mounted signs can be mounted between the posts as this example shows. Also, the panels can be mounted directly to the posts for another look.

Instead of aluminum backers we can also use sandblasted foam signs or routed sign foam.  Another popular post option is aluminum posts or vinyl fence posts for some cost savings.

The sign design can also be more of an frame around the entire sign, including the posts.

Commonly, real estate post/panel signs are painted pressure treated wood posts with an aluminum or wood face.  Vinyl graphics for simple lettering can be done or printed graphics like the one pictured here.
