Commercial Signage project for Peoples Plaza – Tampa, FL

The variety of commercial signage in the greater Tampa Bay area is incredible.  Most people travel by businesses and not think too much about the sign and how it was designed to fit the building.  But, indeed business owners spend a lot of time thinking about the proper type of sign and the visibility.  Once common mistake is putting too much information on the sign. When graphics or text get too detailed it stands to reason the sign won’t attract as many views. The elements of sign design need to work together to be impactful. Another consideration is the speed of traffic by the business and how long people have to view the sign.  A car travelling on a busy road going 45mph only allows the view seconds to see the sign, read it and register in brain what is being communicated.  We must take those things in account for proper commercial signage.

Before

A monument sign needs to appear uncluttered and clean to attract attention. The pylon panels can be designed to be different colors to stand out along a busy road.  Many times just fresh paint will accomplish a lot to allow more visible business signs.  For example, here’s a before and after of a pylon sign.  The sign needed cleaning and painting. The tenant panels needed to be fresh.

After

The electrical components of sign needed to be replaced to be bright and attractive at night.  The color scheme can really help the appearance and deliver the impact.  Custom commercial signage is important for effectiveness and passing traffic.
