San Leandro, CA – Skate Shop News: Kevin Kowalski’s Black Funeral Is Here

Posted in: Videos

Local to the Pacific NorthWest, Kevin Kowalski is an Oregon Coast ripper that calls some of the gnarliest transitions on earth home.

Starting from his own creative, backyard paradise appropriately named “Kowalskiland” to the park that was made for giants, Lincoln City, while still en route to the infamous bowl poured at the Dreamland Skatepark mastermind Mark “Red” Scott’s house— Kevin’s regular routine consists of overhead airs on double overhead walls which always makes for an entertaining session.

The 2010 X Games Park bronze medalist has 8 XG appearances, most recently at XG Austin 2016. After earning his first XG medal, he spent his prize purse his amazing backyard bowl, which he continues to expand. –Fast, aggressive, and sometimes sketchy skate style with unconventional and creative approach to finding lines on any course make him a fan favorite and thrilling to watch. Motto: “Make it up as I go.”

Kevin’s 2017 “In Transition” part was filmed at the infamous Orcas Island skatepark where he ripped the colossal concrete in ways the walls had never before seen. From his opening nosepick to the closing 360 melon, he put the park on attack throughout the entire part. Kevin takes that same aggressive style to the contest scene where he shows off creative tricks and lines that are all his own. In 2016, he nailed two third place finishes during the inaugural Vans Park Series to prove that he is always a contender to beat out his competition. A regular to the Dew Tour Bowl events, Kowalski has landed in the Top 5 twice, but is still on the hunt for a place on the podium.

Just in time for Halloween, God of the fullpipes, Kowalski finds new ways to tear up the tubes and wreck walls from his home turf to Kona. Gregson’s camera work gives you a front-row seat in his just released Blood Wizard part on Thrasher Mag. Go Check it out if you dare!
