San Leandro, CA – Skate Industry News: Grindland Red, Monk and the Birth of DIY

Thrasher Mag recently released an amazing full length and in depth documentary deep diving the early days of the DIY skatepark movement by Michael Burnett and Matt Bublitz. The doc heavily underlines the dedication of the true original concrete trailblazers, Red and Monk. (Mark Scott and Mark Hubbard)  Through the eyes of the actual participants, we get a chance to relive the birth of the famous Burnside Skatepark, as well as two of the dominant skatepark builders in the world. This beautiful documentary takes us to never before seen places with rare footage, heart felt interviews, tear jerkers and the most epic footage from past and present events.
