San Leandro, CA – Skate Shop News: Slide Into 2021 With A Positive Outlook

Here we are. 2021. Now what? 

Looking into the future and seeing businesses closing and more lockdowns in sight, it might be hard to find any motivation at all. Don’t beat yourself up too harshly. After the year we have all had, we could all use a little help in the motivation department. It has been a struggle to say the least this year.

Well, you can take two roads, you can choose to let the struggle consume you, focus on all the negatives of your situation and then proceed to continue the year of gloom and doom… OR you can choose to pick your head up and find something, anything positive in your life to be thankful for. If you are a skateboarder, I just named something positive in your life. After finding something positive to be thankful for, make sure that your daily life is in order. Make sure that your diet is in order. Mental health is key as well. We don’t have the full ability to be social, so we need to make sure we utilize opportunities when possible. 

If you are a skateboarder, you have a leg up. You have the ability to get physical exercise, sunlight aka Vitamin D, socially distant contact with the homies at the local, and something to focus energy on. So if you need a little help to get started, I challenge you to go learn at least a new trick per month, if not per week. Push yourself and it will help your mental state. Stop by your local and support them by grabbing a new board, the fresh pop will feel great and your helping support local. 

Whatever you do to motivate yourself, make sure you at least go skate. Happy 2021 everyone.
