San Leandro, CA – Back to School Blues: Don’t Forget Your Skateboard

Posted in: Uncategorized

Back to School Time!

This can mean so many things for different people. Especially Skateboarders.

For most skateboarders, Back to School time means the removal of free roam of school campuses during the week. Spots are now high risk and only safe to skate during weekends and some holidays. This often leads to more trips to the skate park and a dreary outlook on street skating.

Of course! Who would even want to try to skate a spot that will be a bust before the warm up tricks even go down. and yes… I know there are the brave few hunting for those bangers in their video parts that will venture through the security and verbal bashing from teachers to skate that one elusive spot.  But most will just stay away until the next time summer rolls around and the kids vacate once more.

So this year, while you are either back in school studying, or just waiting for the weekend to skate the school yard spots, don’t let the school year spoil your street legs.

Street legs?

Don’t let the skateparks get you accustomed to easy lines and smooth terrain. Keep your street legs strong! If you have to skate a skatepark, try and find the hard line. Try and create street like scenarios to keep your mind sharp and legs strong.

Find a new spot today, or skate a line you have never tried before at your local park. See what happens.

Challenge yourself in the classroom and challenge yourself on your skateboard.
