San Leandro, CA – Skate Video Spotlight: Kyle Camarillo’s “Head Count” Video

Posted in: Videos

I couldn’t look away.

This video is stunning! The description tells you to pay attention to the opening sequence.. but that doesn’t prepare you for what you are about to witness.

Kyle Camarillo’s “Head Count” Video takes place in some spectacular places in China. It features some extremely talented skateboarders, Hiroki Muraoka, Adam Davies, Shin Sanbongi, LP Nuku, Gabriel Summers, Laurence Keefe, and Issey Kumatani

The opening scene alone was masterful. It looked as though it was carefully planned out and executed possibly several times. The timing of each skater was impeccable. Some may argue the tricks were no “enders”, but the quality was still there! If you have ever tried to film something with multiple people, multiple tricks, camera movements and timing, then you will know what the opening sequence took to pull off. Not to mention finding a spot that will accommodate such a lengthy line up of skaters.

Once you get past the opening of the video, it is time to settle in for 4 more mins of mind melting skating paired with a succulent plate of saucy angles and B roll cuts. Kyle Camarillo has the angles! The cinematic shots, steady camera movement, slow motion cuts mixed with beautiful shots of congested cities peppered with the majestic culture of China keeps your eyes glued to the screen. He really sucks you into the entire trip, giving you the very feel of the streets, the sounds of the cities, and the excitement of seeing the trick get landed…

This video is beautiful. The skating is pretty rad too!!!
